League Information

Format: Pickup

Referees: No

Slapshots: Yes

Checking: By agreement only

Schedule: Every Tuesday, all year long, times vary and are posted to the web site. Generally we start around 9:00 or 9:30 PM

Sessions: Each session is two months long, usually eight or nine weeks

Details:

This is a fairly informal group, we play white and dark and the teams change each week. Please bring both a white and a dark jersey, I try to even up the teams so I may occasionally ask you to change from one side to the other.  Please change sides regularly so the teams don’t stagnate.

Payment:

As I mentioned, this is a pickup league, we all share the cost of the ice equally. I ask people to commit to a session (two months) and when I know the total number of players, the cost is split equally among all. Because of this, when a player commits to a session, that player commits to pay for the session no matter how often they show up.  If a player commits, then doesn’t pay their share, then we don’t have enough to cover the ice fees.

Rules:

We generally play following college hockey rules, although with no referees, you should call your own infractions. Generally, when you commit an infraction, you should give the puck up to the other team.

Icing: When your team ices the puck, give the other team 3 seconds from the time they contact the puck before playing them.

Off sides: Please call your own, but the benches will help identify off sides. If your team is off sides, give the puck up to the other team.Goalies: Everyone knows that having a goalie on the ice is much more fun than not, so please use good sense when playing the puck around the goalies. If the puck is even close to the goalie’s hand, stop playing it. We don’t need a broken finger or wrist resulting from an overly aggressive play. Please don’t charge, trip, hack, slash, check, or otherwise annoy the goalies. They are a “special” breed that takes those things very personally and may get angry and leave the ice. Nobody wants that.
